Domestic Gas Are you a Category 1 Candidate?
A fully experienced gas operative possessing a gas fitting
qualification or certificates of gas safety competence issued
either within or outside of the UK. Then you can apply for any of our domestic gas courses.
Are you a Category 2 Candidate?
Involved in a trade associated with gas work, e.g. plumbing and hold a nationally recognised qualification e.g. NVQ or City & Guilds craft certificate for that trade association.
Then you will be required to provide evidence of your qualifications along with written evidence that you have undertaken ‘On the Job’ gas installation and/or maintenance training under the direct supervision of a competent operative employed by a CORGI registered business.
Are you new to the Gas Industry?
Then our Guild of gas operatives course could be for you – but we would need to discuss this with you
Are you a Limited Scope Candidate?
An operative who is restricted from attaining full competence and who requires assistance to carry out his duties to the required regulatory standard.
Then you could achieve a limited scope qualification. We will be happy to talk through your situation with you and advise you on how to proceed.
Oil
Oftec 101 - Domestic/light commercial oil firing commissioning and servicing course for Pressure Jet Appliances.
Oftec 105E - Domestic oil firing system installation and energy conservation measures in buildings.
Oftec 600A - Advanced Domestic & Non-Domestic oil storage and supply installation course.
Gas
CCN1 Core Gas Safety & Appliances
Those coming to the gas industry for the first time will need to complete an NVQ level 3 or equivelant in Heating & Ventilation and gain sufficient off job training to enable them to progress to on job training with a Gas Safe registered engineer. Once they have completed at least 25 on job examples they are then able to progress to their ACS Initial CCN1 and appliances
Gas operatives holding a CCN1 ACS certificate who are working within the gas industry need to renew their qualification every 5 years. Failure to renew a certificate will render the operative ineligible to lawfully work on gas.
